The Friends of the Burke Library

MISSION
The mission of the Friends is to maintain an association of persons interested in the Library and its collections and facilities; to stimulate greater awareness of the importance of the Library to the development of the Seminary, its communities, and the world of scholarship; to sponsor exhibits, lectures, publications, and other special programs designed to encourage appreciation of the work of the Library; to develop support for the Library in the form of endowments, memorials, and other gifts; to raise funds for the purchase of needed books, etc. not otherwise procurable; and, generally, to promote the enrichment of the Library and Union Theological Seminary.

MEMBERSHIP
Any individual or organization interested in supporting the mission of the Friends is eligible to join.

Categories of membership include:

Student ($15)
Supporter ($50)
Donor ($100)
Sponsor ($250)
Affiliate ($500)
Van Ess Associate ($1000)
McAlpin Associate ($2500)

Members at the Affiliate level are entitled to reader privileges in the Library and may apply for borrowing privileges; members at the Van Ess Associate and McAlpin Associate levels are entitled to reader and borrowing privileges in the Library. (See Access to the Burke Library.)
